Vacheron Constantin’s Malte Tourbillon Regulator, which was presented in 2008, comes in two versions, platinum 950 or 18K 5N pink gold. It houses a tonneau-shaped 1790R Tourbillon Regulator movement (18,000 vibrations/hour) designed and manufactured by Vacheron Constantin. Its 18K gold dial features five alternate kinds of finishing - snailed, guilloched, opaline, vertical satin-finishing and circular satin-finishing – for improved legibility of the time display, which comprises hours, minutes on a regulator display, and a small seconds arranged around the tourbillon cage. Its 39.90 by 49.90 mm case has a transparent sapphire crystal back displaying the exceptional finishing of the movement to full advantage. The power reserve is approximately 40 hours, and water-resistance has been tested to a pressure of 3 Bar, equivalent to around 30 metres. The watch comes on a square-scaled, hand-stitched navy blue or dark-brown alligator leather strap with a folding clasp with a polished half-Maltese cross.
