Jaeger-LeCoultre Atmos 80 Anniversary

In 2008, the Jaeger-LeCoultre Atmos clock is celebrating its 80th anniversary with a serenity matched only by its extraordinary longevity. With no batteries, no electric current and no winding, the clock has steadily found its way through the months, years and decades.

To mark the event, limited editions of Atmos have been created:

Atmos Astronomique
Limited Edition of 48
Inside a spectacular glass cabinet adorned with reproductions of sky charts inspired by the “Harmonia Macrocosmica” celestial atlas produced by Andreas Cellarius in the 17th century, the Atmos Astronomique houses a complicated movement displaying an equation of time, a month indication and a view of the sky as seen from the Northern hemisphere.

Atmos Marqueterie
Limited Edition of 10
A splendid object of art in its own right, the Atmos Marqueterie is equipped with an automatic-opening cabinet featuring a décor paying tribute to the Austrian painter Gustav Klimt and inspired by his famous “portrait of Adèle Bloch”. This exceptional creation, composed of hundreds of precious wood and gold leaf inlays, is a magnificent illustration of the meticulous work of the marquetry inlayer, as it steadily marks off the hours, minutes, months and moon phases.

The Baccarat-crystal bubble-shaped cabinet of the Atmos 561 by Marc Newson houses a movement driving hour, minute, month and moon-phase indications.
