The On line Charity Auction price reaches the sum of $19,500

Posted 2 years, 11 months ago

From February 16th to 20th, Jaeger-LeCoultre organised for the first time the on-line auction of a unique timepiece, the “Number 1” prototype of the Master Compressor Extreme W-Alarm Tides of Time model. As part of its partnership with UNESCO’s World Heritage Centre and with the International Herald Tribune, this action aims to support the defence and protection of marine sites that require constant intervention in order to be saved.

The sale of this “Number 1” prototype with the registration fees to the auction reached the sum of £13,500 ($19,500), which will be entirely donated to the site of Tubbataha, in the Philippines. Located in the Sulu Sea, 181 km southeast of Puerto Princesa, the Palawan island province, it was declared on the UNESCO World Heritage list in December 1993.

In addition to this immediate financial support in the form of a donation, the Manufacture Jaeger-LeCoultre is cooperating with the International Herald Tribune in providing detailed descriptions of the 24 selected sites in the dedicated “Tides of Time” pages, as part of its “Making Time More Beautiful” initiative.

In order to thank participants in this auction, Jaeger-LeCoultre will be pleased to gift them a retrospective book “Tides of Time”.

Meanwhile, the successful bidder for the “Number 1” prototype of the Master Compressor Extreme W-Alarm Tides of Time watch will be officially contacted by Jaeger-LeCoultre to make arrangements to hand over this timepiece testifying to a strong commitment.
