Hublot The Masterpiece MP-01 Flyback Chronograph

The Hublot releases the first item in the Hublot Masterpiece collection, The Masterpiece MP-01 Flyback Chronograph. This collection is imagined as an assortment of higher-end timepieces strictly equipped with in-house movements. The collection sits somewhere between classic Hublot watches and the exquisite Confrerie Hublot timepieces.

The new watch comes in a tonneau shaped case, which is another novelty for Hublot line of luxury timepieces. The case is rather large with 48mm in diameter and over 55 mm in height. It is crafted in smooth and sand-blasted titanium, with black composite resin.

The watch utilizes the in-house HUB5100 monopusher column-wheel manually-wound chronograph movement, composed of 384 individual components and equipped with 43 jewels. The movement is based on three barrels working in series, and provides up to 10 days of power reserve. The power reserve indicator is embedded to the movement, and visible through the transparent case-back.
The dial is skillfully openworked and offers a view on delicate mechanics of the chronograph mechanism. Three dials present the chronograph seconds at 2 o'clock and the chronograph minutes at 10 o'clock, along with a small seconds counter at 6 o'clock. Both the seconds and minute counters for the chronograph are in subdials. The small seconds counter is a spinning disk that very much looks like a tourbillon. The watch is graced with skeletonized sword-shaped hour and minute hands.

This Hublot novelty is limited to only 100 pieces and the estimated retail price is somewhere around $80,000.
