Millesime Flying Tourbillon, from this collection, is produced in a very limited edition of only 28 pieces. This watch utilizes hand-wound mechanical movement RD540, composed of 293 individual pieces and equipped with 28 jewels. The movement is nested in rather large 44mm platinum case, and decorated by circular-grained plate, "Côtes de Genève" decoration, and the tourbillon carriage shaped like a Celtic cross.
The movement bares famous Poinçon de Genève, or the Geneva Seal, which is the official seal of the City and Canton of Geneva, Switzerland. The Geneva Seal is the quality seal of the Geneva School of Horology and it has an official purpose as defined by the law. Only three Geneva watchmakers have movements certified under the Geneva Seal: Roger Dubuis, Patek Philippe and Vacheron & Constantin. However, only Roger Dubuis submits all of the movements for the Geneva Seal certification. The Geneva Seal is about quality, beauty, durability, and only the best possible movements are certified.
A flying tourbillon is secured at just one point to give the impression of being suspended in its cage, whereas the classic tourbillon is held by two bridges. The watch displays hours and minutes in the centre, it has an instantaneous large date at 12 o’clock, and a power reserve indicator at half past 4. The flying tourbillon is set at half past seven, completing one rotation per minute.
Silver and gray shades of the dial nicely melt with black genuine alligator hand-stitched strap, finished with platinum pin buckle. The watch is water resistant to 50 meters, and suitable for everyday wear and swimming.
