This unusual square wheel keeps on turning to indicate the passing of the seconds. Interesting and eye-catching, it isn’t just beautiful, but also sets a new milestone in fine mechanical watachmaking: this is the first time in history that a watch uses a square wheel mechanism. The process of development took a couple of years to complete, before finally defining a perfect shape of the teeth in order to provide constant power transfer.

The wheels are in constant motion, and the whole composition comes to life as soon as one lays the eyes on the black or rhodium plated dial, decorated with the traditional Grand Colimaçon treatment.

Nothing on this watch disturbs the supremacy of the square wheel. The simple hands are coated with Superluminova, indicating the time on discrete stick hour-markers. The power reserve indicator, positioned at 3 o’clock, almost completely melts with the noble background of a dial. The watch is presented in 43mm wide case crafted in stainless steel, with alternating satin-brushed and polished finishes. It is completed with black alligator strap with folding steel clasp with push buttons.

Transparent case-back is sealed with the sapphire crystal window, offering a glance on the refined ML156 hand-wound mechanical movement. The movement is developed in collaboration with HE-ARC, manufactured and assembled by Maurice Lacroix. The movement is equipped with 34 jewels and provides 45 hours of power reserve.
