The core of this watch is its unusual movement that makes it possible to create unique and novel combinations of complications. The front of a watch reveals a sonata of four retrograde hands that move in synergy with moonphase and day/night indicator. At 12 o’clock there is a day of the week indication, date at 3 o’clock, 24-hour time zone at 9 o’clock, and small seconds at the bottom of the dial. All of the indications are retrograde, and the hand immediately returns at the beginning position once when the cycle is completed.

As the rest of the Master Collection, the new Longines Master Collection Retrograde Moonphases uses a self-winding mechanical movement calibre L707.2 that is completely developed for Longines. The base calibre is Swiss ETA A07 L31, fitted with 25 jewels and designed to provide 48-hours of power reserve.
The watch is crafted in stainless steel and offered in two sizes: as 41mm or 44mm. The case-back of the round case is covered with a transparent sapphire glass to reveal beating of the core mechanism. There is a choice of two dial colors, silvered and black, both graced with 11 Roman numerals.
The watch is water resistant to 30 meters and mounted on either stainless steel bracelet or alligator strap.
