Breitling for Bentley Barnato Chronographs

The Breitling Bentley Barnato and Bentley Barnato Racing chronographs are named after this refined and wealthy British financier and gentleman, who used to race in Bentley's cars for fun. However, Barnato was very successful in his hobby, and he even managed to win three entries in the 24 Hours of Le Mans race: in 1928, in 1929 and again in 1930. Joel Woolf Barnato, nicknamed “Bebe”, was so into his passion for luxurious racing cars that he even became a majority shareholder and chairman of Bentley in 1924. The new Bentley chronographs are made in his honor as a special edition of racing chronographs.




Both Bentley Barnato and Bentley Barnato Racing come in two basic variations. The standard model is crafted in stainless steel, measuring 49 millimeters in diameter. The special limited edition of these watches, available in 500 pieces of each model, is crafted in red gold.



Both models are available with black or silver dials, distinguished by immediately recognizable details. Bentley Barnato’s look is obviously inspired by the dashboard of the sports car, and topped with a fixed bezel decorated by a knurled raised motif. Bentley Barnato Racing uses the unique disc-type counters system, to display the hours and minutes. The measurements are indicated by two red triangles, while the openworked structure of the discs instantly reminds of the steering wheels of Bentley’s sports cars.



The watches use the highly reliable “30-second chronograph” system, which provides chronograph precision up to 1/8th of a second. The central hand on these chronographs is in a constant sweeping motion, completing one circle in 30 seconds, instead of a standard minute. Both watches utilize the COSC officially chronometer-certified self-winding Calibre 25B movement. The wearer can choose between different straps and bracelets, including the Barenia leather, crocodile leather or rubber, as well as the matching steel or golden bracelet.
