GRAHAM LONDON - Mercedes GP Time Zone

Posted 1 year ago

One of the interesting launches last month was the Graham’s Mercedes GP Time Zone.

Graham is already known as the official timekeeper of the Mercedes GP Petronas Formula One Team, and this watch was created especially for a team of 45, preparing to participate in 19 Grands Prix. The most useful to the team was GMT complication with simultaneous reading of a second time zone, designed for travelers and people who keep changing continents while continuously racing around the globe… and the new Mercedes GP Time Zone was born!

The watch measures 42 millimeters and fits perfectly on all wrists – both male and female racing fans. It is decorated with “Clous de Paris” motif on the bezel, which flawlessly blends into the rest of the Formula One styling. The tire tread rubber strap definitely completes the design, delivering a touch of daring energy. Inside of the case beats Calibre G1714, automatic movement, fitted with 21 jewels and incablock shock absorber, providing 42 hours of power reserve. The movement is visible through the see-through sapphire case embossed with Mercedes GP Petronas logo.

The watch comes in two basic variations – one with silver dial and one with a black one. The black dial is a bit more sporty, owing to the black carbon used to recreate the racing flag pattern. Both dials feature GMT graduation on external ring. A black GMT hand with Petronas green tip flows around this 24-hour graduation, indicating the second time zone. Local time is displayed using the centered hours and minutes hands. Both dials are distinguished by oversized Arabic numerals, small date aperture at 7 o’clock and effective Mercedes GP GMT logo. Both pieces are water resistant to 50 meters or 160 feet and priced at 3'900 CHF.
