Ulysse Nardin Freak Diavolo Only Watch

Ulysse Nardin Freak is both minimalistic and highly complicated. This is the world’s first timepiece that has an escapement wheel constructed of silicium. The first Freak ever issued marked a true milestone in watchmaking industry. The basis of its design presents a movement that is actually a watch itself. The original Freak was made without a crown, without a dial and without hands, boasting extraordinary mechanical movement and triggering a renaissance in haute horology.

The unique Freak Diavolo Only Watch is named after its devilish appearance. The watch has distinctive horns and black cloak-like backdrop. It takes the tourbillon complication to new heights, using the silicium for patented hairspring and throughout the large part of the escapement. The flying tourbillon is also used as a seconds indicator, featuring two new ball-baring systems and a balance wheel. Tourbillon is made entirely in the brand’s workshops, and it completes one rotation per minute, while the orbit makes one revolution per hour. The mechanism provides exceptional power reserve of more than eight days. The arrow, attached to the tourbillon cage, indicates the seconds along the blue-half circle.



Winding the watch is very simple. The manually wound tourbillon is powered by turning the lower bezel. Simple adjustments of time are possible by turning the upper bezel. Everything is made simple and one full rotation provides 12 hours of power reserve.

The watch is made in stainless steel and sculptured in clean and polished 44.5 mm-wide case. It boasts black and charcoal tones on the dial, and elegant black crocodile strap. The inscription “1/1” is engraved on the case, and “Only Watch” insignia dominates the lower portion of the blue lacquered bezel.
