The Edox 5 Minute Repeater, developed by Edox, is often mentioned as one the world’s most complicated timepieces. It was born in 2005 and further refined in a number of special issues, including Classe-Royale 5-Minute Repeaterfrom 2007, and this year’s Edox Cape Horn 5 Minute Repeater.

The Cape Horn 5 Minute Repeater features La Grande Complication: the supreme 5-minute repeater, a complex mechanism that allows the 5-minute repeater to strike on demand, the hours and the minutes. The mechanism uses two hammers, which produce two different tones to indicate accurate time. This is one of the most prestigious Edox watches, very extravagant in appearance. Its skeletonized movement is richly engraved and assembled by hand. The movement is fully visible from both sides of the case.
The Edox 87 movement, which powers the watch, is based on ETA 2892-A2. It is nested in a 45-millimeters wide stainless steel case with notched bezel. Skeleton dial is protected with scratch-resistant sapphire with anti-reflective treatment, and the case-back bears limited numbering engraved on a special plate. Water resistant to 100 meters and completed with genuine black leather strap.
This piece is offered in a limited edition of 30 individual copies.
