Perhaps the most interesting thing about the design of these watches is that Daniel incorporates the principles of feng shui into the process of design. Feng shui, an ancient Chinese system of aesthetics, uses the laws of Heaven and Earth to help one improve different aspects of life by receiving positive qi. Qi is often described as a vital force, an active principle of life or energy flow. The emotional aspect of the design is very much important for Daniel, and therefore he allows the buyers to choose the elements of their watch: the dial, the watchband, the case, and the glass… anything they wish for to make the piece one of its kind and fully personalized.

Maurice de Mauriac watches are characterized by a successful blend of aviation and vintage style. Their latest piece The Tactial Sapphyire, is named after the optical color on F-16 military jets. It uses a special tactical crystal and, depending on the angle the sun hits its surface, the watch changes its color. The watch is available in 10 different colors, crafted from steel or titanium. The chronograph functions are propelled by the Valjaoux 7750 movement, and the case is coated in black DLC. The new piece is available in a 42mm or 45mm case size, with screw or simple pushers. Steel model is priced at $5200 while the titanium one retails for $5750.
