DIOR Watch Line - Dior VIII

The watch is ultimately feminine and refined, sculptured in an ultra-thin case and decorated with pyramid-shaped ornaments that discretely refract the light. The game of light comes to life with each movement of the wrist, recalling the silhouette of the Bar suit, one of the most emblematic pieces of Dior. Monsieur Dior always dreamt of being an architect, and he adds: “As a Couturier, I have to respect the principles of architecture.”

Dior VIII is also a nod at the lucky number of Dior’s superstitious founder. The house was established on 8 October 1946, his first collection was dubbed “en huit”, and the boutique is founded in the VIIIth arrondissement of Paris and its Avenue Montaigne and 8 Place Vendôme. This special number is also the only numeral shown on the dial.



“I could write a book about black. You can wear black at any time. You can wear it at any age. A “little black frock” is essential to a woman’s wardrobe”, wrote Christian Dior in his Little Dictionary of Fashion published in 1954. These luxurious black models are divided into three categories: Day, Cocktail and Night.


Day models are available in two sizes: 33 millimeters and 38 millimeters. All eight models of this collection are crafted in combination of black high-tech ceramic and steel, and most of them are graced with round-cut white diamonds. These watches are powered by quartz or automatic movements with a transparent case-back and black-lacquered oscillating weight. Water resistant to 50 meters.



Cocktail models are crafted in combination of high-tech ceramic and white gold. The watches are powered by automatic movement nested in 33-millimeters wide housing. Bezel is set with baguette-cut stones: pink sapphires, tsavorite garnets, white diamonds or citrines. See-through window on the case-back reveals lacquered oscillating weight, matching the color of stones.



Four Night models are powered by Dior Inverse calibre. All models are crafted in black ceramic and three of them, graced with gold and diamonds in a “lace” motif. The most successful model of this series boasts beautiful oscillating weight with multi-colored mother of pearl inlay and “pleated” motif diamonds. Models of this series are available in limited editions of 88 pieces.

All models are developed in the Ateliers Dior Horlogerie at La Chaux-de-Fonds in Switzerland. Meet the beauties:
