De Bethune Dream Watch IV - a tribute to Steve Jobs: The 4S shield

De Bethune is a contemporary watchmaking company based on an unconventional idea of traditional watchmaking. This company, born in 2002, is famous for their technological innovations, brilliant mechanisms, and amazingly beautiful designs. Some time ago, the brand launched a luxurious alligator-skin DBM iPhone case fitted with a stylish mechanical pocket watch. This was their first attempt to breathe a new life into once all-pervading extravagant masculine jewelry, by adding a touch of classic to gentlemen’s tech-companions. Now De Bethune returns once again with the Dream Watch IV, designed especially in honor of Steve Jobs.

The new creation is offered in a limited edition of only 12 exemplars, and it will be officially unveiled at the De Bethune exhibition in the Grand Lac salon of the Hotel des Berges in Geneva from January 15-20, 2012, during the SIHH. The watch-case is space-ship inspired and crafted in polished and bead-blasted titanium. It truly looks amazing shaped like a robust shield. According to the brand, the case provides mechanical protection for the iPhone, but also reduces the physiological impact of electromagnetic waves, protecting the health of its owner.

The watch dial is actually a reinterpretation of the unique watch De Bethune made for the Only Watch 2011 auction. It is made of special hand-polished blued titanium graced with diamonds and 18-carat white gold to represent the starry sky.
