Same as the premier Royal Oak watch from 1972, the new Openworked Extra-Thin Royal Oak features a 39-milimeter case and utilizes the caliber of the same thickness, which measures only 3.05 millimeters. The openworked dial reveals beautiful architecture of an automatic caliber 5122 movement, graced with a modern anthracite finish. The oscillating weight is made of 22-carat white gold and clearly visible from the case-back. It bears the commemorative inscription “AP Royal Oak 1972-2012″, and a distinctive “tapisserie” motif, emblematic of the dials in the Royal Oak collection, on the external segment.
This platinum anniversary edition is also crafted in platinum and has a glareproofed sapphire crystal and caseback. The date disc is also made from sapphire, to preserve the transparency of the movement. The watch comes with 40 hours of power reserve, water resistant to 50 meters, and mounted on 950 platinum bracelet with AP folding clasp.
