Piaget in Florence and The Machine's controversial video

This type of news, even though related to watch industry, is not something that you can see very often here at Luxois. However, we believe that the classic and timeless Altiplano watch blends perfectly with the style and the atmosphere of the music video (combined together with beautiful diamond jewelry from the Piaget’s Possession Line) and therefore deserves your attention. It is always good to see classical aesthetic values in bold and modern interpretation, such as this one, but things are not always as smooth as they first appear to be.

Released in mid-November, this video has already generated over 1.5 million views, and quite a number of complaints. The religious and racial imagery of the video, contrasting Christian iconography with images of voodoo priest, has prompted a heated debate among the public. The video is labeled as controversial and racist since it depicts Florence and the choir in white light, as representatives of good, whilst the black voodoo man seems to be the dark representation of evil.
