The watch is revealed yesterday in brand’s new boutique in Milan, as a tribute to one of the rarest and most sought-after historical Reverso. In the 1930,
Jaeger-LeCoultre manufacture offered watches with dials painted in wide variety of colors. Most of the customers bought neutral white, creamy, black or white watches, which are considered classic and universally flattering. However, it was the era of
“Années Folles”, or Crazy Years, and there were a small number of those who choose red dials as a liberal expression of their effortless elegance and dandyism. Today, these watches are among the most prized rarities. Earlier this year, a vintage
Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso with red enamel dial from 1931 was sold for amazing 35,000 CHF. This new model repeats the same aesthetic codes as its distinguished ancestor, and comes with a brightly red lacquer dial.

The watch is made in
stainless steel, sculptured according to the immediately recognizable Art Deco style. It houses manually-wound
Jaeger-LeCoultre Calibre 822 that provides
45-hour power reserve. The case-back bears “1000 Hours Control” inscription, which indicates that the watch is optimized to reach the standard of performance demanded by the
1000 hour control tests. In other words, this means that the watch has undergone over 1000 hours of intense testing before leaving the manufacture.
Jaeger-LeCoultre Grande Reverso 1931 Rouge is being sold only as a boutique exclusivity.
