A. Lange & Sohne Datograph UP/DOWN

This new A. Lange & Sohne watch is going to be officially unveiled at the upcoming SIHH 2012 exhibition, but a number of watch enthusiasts have already had a chance to see it live a couple of days ago in Dresden. As the ProfessionalWatches reports, the new Datograph AUF/AB Flyback Chronograph now receives a major update both from the inside and aesthetically. The watch-case is now slightly larger and features 41 millimeters in diameter. There is also a useful power reserve indicator, featured for the first time on the Datograph watch. The power reserve is placed at 6 o’clock and represents a practical addition to this manually-wound watch. Instead of previously used Roman numerals, the watch face now reveals more refined crisp silvered indexes.

The original Datograph watch uses manually wound Calibre L951.1. chronograph movement with flyback and precisely jumping minute counter. The movement is now enhanced with a larger power barrel and offers no less than 60 hours of power reserve. This is a major improvement if we know that the previous A. Lange & Sohne Datograph models offered only 36 hours of power reserve. The movement is generously decorated in the spirit of haute horlogerie, and it is visible through the see-through case back.
