2012 is the Year of the Dragon, a passionate era that recurs every twelfth year. The legendary creature, featured in the myths of many cultures from all over the world, is currently a source of creative inspiration to many gifted minds. The brand has just unveiled a new Dragon & Phoenix Collection, consisting of more than 20 models, each paying a tribute to the new astral cycle dominated by the powerful creature of myth and legend.

The Chinese Dragon symbolizes the principle of Yang, which is a masculine symbol, a representation of bright and positive side of the universe. The Chinese Phoenix symbolizes the principle of Yin, which is a dark force opposing yang - associated with water, moon, darkness and femininity. These two forces are seemingly contrary, but actually interconnected and mutually dependent. The Dragon & Phoenix Collection brings them together in a beautiful assembly of high-end timepieces, designed for women and men. The range offers 24 exquisite creations crafted from precious materials, set with high quality diamonds and finished using the most delicate and the most demanding decorative techniques. The collection was officially unveiled at the Piaget Fifth Avenue Boutique during the celebration of New York Dragon Week.


Piaget Dragon and Phoenix Emperador XL Watch

One of the stars of the show was Piaget Emperador XL crafted in 18-carat rose gold, set with 257 brilliant-cut diamonds, bearing a hand-engraved dragon design on the dial. Another interesting piece was a feminine Piaget Altiplano with 38mm in diameter, crafted in 18-carat white gold and embellished with 78 brilliant-cut diamonds - arranged around the Grand Feu enamel dial with a dragon depiction.
