On the occasion of the BaselWorld 2017 watch and jewelry show, the house of Omega introduces the Seamaster Planet Ocean Big Blue, a contemporary, sporty timepiece born from the art of ceramic watchmaking. Following the success of Planet Ocean Deep Black Collection, the all-black GMT ceramic watch in four different executions, Omega introduces the Big Blue, which is a combination GMT and divers' watch created from a single block of blue ceramic!

Not just the main case of the generously proportioned Big Blue is made of blue ceramic, but also its sleek, modern dial. The 45.5mm-wide watch that features a blue ceramic dial with an orange GMT track, with hands and indexes in 18K white gold with a white Super-LumiNova coating. The bezel, which is also made from blue ceramic, features a diving scale with Liquidmetal® numerals. The section of the first 15 minutes, marked to measure the timing of mandatory decompression stops, is highlighted with vibrant orange rubber. The watch is water resistant to 600 meters, and, therefore, equipped with a helium escape valve, which sits at 10 o’clock position.

In 2015, on the occasion of the BaselWorld trade show, Omega introduced the Globemaster, which was announced as the world's first Master Chronometer. The legendary Globemaster, which is both COSC and METAS certified, now returns with an update, and with a new case diameter. The Omega Globemaster Annual Calendar is increased from 39mm to 41mm, allowing for even better visibility of the vintage-inspired Pie Pan dial. The watch face is also revealed in a completely new shade of grey, evoking the early Constellation models.

However, the changes are not merely cosmetic. The most important update is on the inside, since the brand new movement drives the Globemaster Annual Calendar. The new OMEGA Co-Axial Master Chronometer Calibre 8922 movement features an instantaneous jump mechanism, which controls the movement of the blue-varnished month hand. The hand travels along the month track, where each month has been positioned between blued indexes. Omega omitted the day of the week indicator, and, instead, it opted for a more restrained design, with a date window appear...

A moonphase complication in a sports watch is quite unusual, and pretty much senseless, but not in this case, since Omega Speedmaster is no stranger to the lunar surface. The manual winding Speedmaster Professional or "Moonwatch" was worn during the first Amer...
