Full watch name:

IWC Automatic Mission Earth Edition "Plastiki" 3236

Description: IWC Ingenieur Automatic Mission Earth Edition Plastiki honors the British adventurer David de Rothschild and his crew who crossed the Pacific in 2010 in their unique boat made of 12.000 plastic bottles, the famous "Plastiki."

IWC Schaffhausen was the official partner of this journey aimed to draw global attention to environmental problems and health of the oceans.

The piece is made of stainless steel and houses mechanical self-winding IWC-manufactured 80110 calibre. The movement works on 28 jewels and provides 40 hours of power reserve. It has a soft-iron inner case for protection against magnetic fields up to 80,000 A/m, and provides 1200 meters (120 bars) of water resistance.

The watch has a date indication as well as the central hacking seconds hand. This is extremely useful for exploration crews, since it allows precise and synchronized time setting: the seconds hand stops when the wearer pulls out the crown for time adjustment. It is mounted on blue rubbers trap and issued in a limited edition of only 1000 pieces.
