Omega has released their special watch collection for the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games. Following Chinese tradition that the number 8 is a lucky number (the games open on 08/08/2008) Omega limited the different gold colors to 288 pieces, 888 pieces and the stainless steel color to 2008 pieces. The number 8 theme is repeated throughout the product launch dates.
The watch utilizes Omega 3313 Self-winding chronograph movement with column wheel mechanism and Co-Axial Escapement for greater precision stability and durability of the movement. Free sprung balance, with date, hour, minute and continuous small seconds hands, central chronograph hand, providing approximately 52 hours pf power reserve.
Crafted in red gold with beveled edges, this piece features diamond set bezel. White mother of pearl dial reveals chronograph complication displayed in three gold-ringed sub-dials. There is a date window positioned at 11 o’clock. Seconds hand is finished with five small circles, representing the logotype of Olympic Games.
Coupled with white leather bracelet, this watch is water resistant up to 100 meters, suitable for swimming and shallow snorkeling. |
