The first Rolex Daytona was unveiled in 1963. The watch was especially designed to meet the demands of professional race-car drivers and rapidly earned its epic status.
This watch is crafted in 18-carat white gold, with matching black dial graced with Arabic numerals. It is completed with Oysterlock bracelet with safety clasp.
Daytona watches are topped with engraved tachymeter bezel, which perfectly calculates the speed measuring the elapsed time over a pre-determined distance. The central second of this watch allows reading of 1/8 second, and two counters, positioned at 9 and 3 o’clock, measure hour and minute increments.
The Rolex Cosmograph Daytona is powered by 4130 chronograph calibre movement was designed and assembled exclusively by Rolex in 2000. These watches offer an autonomy of approximately 72-hours, or 66 hours if the stopwatch is in use. The watch is equipped with the blue Parachrom hairspring, made from a unique alloy impervious to magnetic fields, which provides up to 10 times more resistance to shocks than ordinary hairsprings. These pieces are water resistant to 100 meters. |
