The first Rolex Milegauss model was introduced in 1956. This watch is especially designed for scientists, since it possesses amazing resistance against the magnetic fields, of up to 1.000 gauss. The watch is tested by CERN engineers and proved for maximum protection against the effects of magnetism. Milegauss is a French name for 1000 gauss.
This model is nested in 40mm wide case with polished bezel and sapphire crystal protecting the black dial. The seconds hand is shaped like an orange lightening, bringing the quite unusual tech appeal to the creation. The Rolex Milegauss is completed water resistant to 100 meters and completed with Oyster bracelet with Oysterclasp with Easylink.
The watch is crafted from 904L steel, providing the maximum resistance against the corrosion. It is equipped with Rolex’s patented blue Parchrom hairspring, which makes the movement up to 10 times more resistant to the shocks.
The COSC certified movement of this watch is protected by a shield made of ferromagnetic alloys. The shields are placed onto the movement and onto the case, featuring the capital letter B engraved. |
