The first Rolex Submariner, was presented back in1953. This was the world’s first watch water resistant up to 100 metres (330 feet). Only later it was improved by the patented triple-seal Triplock winding crown, making it capable of withstanding depths of up to 300 metres (1,000 feet).
This piece is crafted from stainless steel and graced with the black dial. Black rotatable bezel circles around the 40mm-wide case, while the date window remains magnified by the Cyclops's eye, at 3 o'clock. The watch is completed with Oyster fliplock bracelet with extension links.
The Rolex Submariner is nested in the Oyster case which protects the watch from any shocks, pressure, dust, water or other intrusive elements. The watch is also secured on the wrist with the Glidelock clasp that lets the divers extend it up to 21mm, and wear the watch comfortably over the diver’s suit.
Rolex Submariner has the triplock winding crown that consists of 10 individual elements. Triplock winding crown is screwed down on to the case, securing it and protecting from water.
All of the Rolex Submariner models are immediately recognizable by their unidirectional rotating bezel crafted in scratch-resistant ceramic. For safety reasons, the bezel rotates only anti-clockwise. |
