Introducing the Anonimo Militare Alpini Camouflage range
Anonimo is a relatively young watchmaking brand founded in 1997, in Florence, Italy. The founder of the brand, Federico Massacesi, wanted to perpetuate the long-standing tradition of Florentine watchmaking. Anonimo’s watches are manufactured in Florence, with Swiss movements provided by ETA SA or Sellita. The brand focuses solely on production of mechanical watches. After being acquired in 2013, by a group of private investors, Anonimo is pursuing new lines of development in Switzerland. The brand describes its creations as a perfect blend of Swiss precision with a deeply-ingrained Italian sporty chic style.
Anonimo’s creations, such as the Militare, Polluce and Nautilo watches, are strongly influenced by professional watches that once used to be produced for the Italian Navy officers. Their elaborate, functional design, gives an impression of power and solidity.
In 2016, the house of Anonimo presents new versions of its flagship models, Militare Classic and Nautilo. The Millitare model was created in 2001 for use by Italian combat divers. Its most distinctive feature is a crown positioned at 12 o’clock, as on pocket watches. The cushion shaped case of the Militare model has now been reworked to feature more fluid profile, while a patented crown protection/locking system retains its original position above the crown.
On the occasion of the BaselWorld 2015, Anonimo presented the Militare Alpini series, a range that represents natural evolution of the Militare Classic model, the original Militare from 2001. The changes introduced with this edition are significant. Firstly, the brand has opted for a sandwich construction of the case, in order to reduce its overall thickness. Now, the Militare Alpini Camouflage measures only 14.25 mm in height. Secondly, the watch features a modified strap attachment system at 12 o’clock, with a stronger resistance and a screwed back. Combined, the crown protector, these improvements guarantee for no less than 12 ATM in water resistance (120 meters).
The Militare Alpini Camouflage is dedicated to military watches. The model is executed in two versions, an automatic one (two colors) and a chronograph version (three colors). Each of them is issued in a 97-piece limited edition, as a tribute to the foundation year. The case-back of s engraved with the outline of the Matterhorn or Monte Cervino, a mountain of the Alps, spanning the main watershed and border between Switzerland and Italy – a symbol of the Anonimo brand. The cases of the Militare Alpini Camouflage are available only in bronze, which gives them a vintage character. In addition, bronze darkens over time to acquire a natural and inimitable patina, which makes each timepiece absolutely unique.
Anonimo Militare Alpini Camouflage is powered by the SELLITA SW260-1 movement. The Militare Alpini is also available in a three different Chronograph versions, each of them in a 97 watches limited Edition. The chronographs are powered by Sellita SW300 self-winding mechanical movement equipped with a Dubois Depraz 2035M chronograph module. The Militare Alpini Camouflage retails at CHF 4200.
