Montblanc introduces an attractive stainless steel watch and a vintage-styled salmon colored two-tone dial. Furthermore, this rare timepiece is powered by a historical Minerva movement, and inspired by the Minerva timepieces from the 1950’s. Back in 2003, Montblanc discovered a hidden box of original Minerva MB M62.00 calibers in the archives of the Manufacture of Villeret. Only 38 movements were discovered, and they now equip the new Montblanc Heritage Small Second Limited Edition 38.
For the first time ever, the limited edition model bears the name of Minerva on the dial. Inspired by the 1950’s aesthetics, it reveals a pure, classic, evergreen vintage design with a 39mm stainless steel case, a duotone salmon dial, and a grey Sfumato alligator strap.
The watch is powered by the historical calibre MB M62.00, inspired by the Pythagore calibre from 1948. Reinterpreted in 2003, with more classical shapes and finishes, the movement indicates the hours, minutes, and small seconds at 6 o’clock. It features a large balance wheel oscillating at a low frequency of 18,000 vibrations per hour. The regulating organ is equipped with a hairspring positioning system with a stud, and a hairspring length regulator index system (raquette) bearing the Minerva arrow. The same motif can also be found engraved on the main plate. The parts of the movement have been hand-decorated with beveling, chamfered edges, circular graining and polishing. The bridges are decorated on all sides, and hand-embellished with Geneva stripes.
The beautiful salmon-colored dial has been lacquered and domed, while Minerva’s secret signature appears between 4 and 5 o’clock. A small second counter with azure finishing is set a bit lower, to provide greater contrast.
The watch arrives in a fully polished stainless steel case with curved horns and a domed box-shaped sapphire crystal glass with antireflective coating. An open sapphire crystal on the back of the case reveals the historical Minerva movement. Each timepiece of this limited edition is entirely crafted and assembled by the same master watchmaker at the Minerva Manufacture.
Montblanc Heritage Small Second Limited Edition 38, reference 124781, is available in a limited edition of 38 pieces. The retail price is EUR 17,900. For more information, please visit montblanc.com.
