If you followed our news section for last couple of months, you’ve certainly noticed an article about Officine Autodromo, the brand that was announced here at Luxois as a new star in watchmaking galaxy, almost half a year ago. Autodromo wristwatches are vintage-inspired time instruments made for racing fans. In the first article about Autodromo, I wrote about Vallelunga, Brescia and Veloce models, inspired by the gauges on the dashboard of 20th century European race cars. Now, the young brand that revives the spirit of vintage Italian racing launches the new Vallelunga Chronograph.

Autodromo Vallelunga Chronograph features the same tailoring as the brand’s bestselling Vallelunga watch: the distinctive tachometer style with red sweep seconds hand, two off-centered chronograph counters, and big date indicator at 6 o’clock. The watch is available in two basic variations: with black or white dial. The case is made from stainless steel and it measures 42mm in diameter.

The only drawback with this great looking watch is that it actually uses quartz movement. All of the Autodromo watches are powered by Swiss quartz movements and this one in particular is animated by Swiss Ronda 5020.B. On the other hand, Autodromo watches are very affordable, and this one arrives in a luxurious presentation box and with a price tag of $550.
