We are just a couple of weeks away from the Bal du Printemps,” organized by the IRP – International Foundation for Research in Paraplegia - which will be held on March 21st, 2013. On the occasion of the 15th anniversary of the Bal, a young Geneva-based watch manufacture – Blacksand – produces a unique watch named Continuity Ocean. The proceeds from the auction of this watch will be used to fund project dealing with research in paraplegia in Switzerland and around the world.

The Blacksand Continuity Ocean Piece Unique is the newest creation in the Continuity ladies’ collection, which is distinguished by its poetic dials. Each of the pieces from this line tells its own story, including the latest Continuity Ocean that depicts a hand-made turtle swimming in a sea of enamel. The dial is embedded in a pink gold case and embraced with 80 VVSI TopWesselton diamonds (0.60 ct).

Thanks to the Blacksand Genève 1999, self-winding caliber, the watch revisits the traditional timetelling. The poetic reading of time is possible with the jumping hours at 12 o’clock and the dragging minutes at 6 o’clock. A romantic indicator at 3 o’clock serves as a day/night indicator. The movement is nested in 41mm-wide housing and endowed with 42 hours of power reserve. Blacksand Continuity Ocean Piece Unique is mounted on a blue ocean alligator leather strap and fastened to the wrist with a 5N gold pin buckle.
