First time that I mentioned Blacksand Geneve was in February 2011, just before the brand was to debut on BaselWorld trade fair. Their premier model was the Blacksand Uniformity, which was later accompanied by its Joaillerie version. This year’s BaselWorld saw a couple of new editions from Blacksand – the Blacksand White Sea Turtle, which I already introduced in one of the previous articles, and this new single-pusher chronograph, named Blacksand Stratographe. The new watch is designed for all sport enthusiasts and it arrives on the market in two versions: one is with tachymeter, and designed for speed enthusiasts, while the other features a pulsometer, which may be useful to those who enjoy cardio exercise.

The watch boasts brand’s recognizable insignia: contemporary design, along with the shades of purple, grey or black, expressed through an openworked dial featuring two ceramic inserts. The case is available in three different choices of material: crafted in titanium and ceramic, pink or white gold.

The case houses Blacksand’s first manufacture movement, the hand-wound Blacksand CAL 2002, which provides 50 hours of power reserve. Visible from the case back, the movement reveals sandblasted and satin-brushed motifs, made in the spirit of true contemporary haute horlogerie. Blacksand Stratographee is presented on either black or grey alligator strap with matt or shiny finish, purple lining and folding clasp.
