The Bovet watch company celebrates the 190th anniversary this year and marks the occasion by issuing extraordinary new dedicated pieces. This company, founded in 1822, started out as a luxury watch company that exported genuine Swiss watches to China. The business was established by a Swiss watchmaker Edouard Bovet and his brothers, but it lasted only for two generations before the heiress lose their interest in watchmaking and completely turned to commerce between the continents. The name Bovet was sold a number of times and relaunched as a watchmaking brand in 1994. Today, Bovet Fleurier creates watches modeled on vintage pieces from the 19th century, by which the company once became famous.

Bovet Rising Star Grand Complication on chain
One of the new watches, in the Grand Complications collection, is the one named Rising Star. The watch is fully designed, assembled, decorated and tested in the brand's manufacture Dimier 1738. The watch is a beautifully redesigned tourbillon nested in a carriage that has been extended to a diameter of 13.50 mm. The most beautiful thing about the new design is that the carriage now appears to be floating below gorgeously decorated bridges. The dial shows three time zones – the current time indicated by the central hour and minute hand, a second time zone at 9 o'clock and third one at 3 o'clock. Above each of the sub-counters a small aperture shows the name of one of twenty-four cities corresponding to the time-zone displayed.

Bovet’s Rising Star is offered in two variations, crafted in 18K red or white gold. Customers can also choose between black, blue, red or brown guilloché dial. The case is exactly the same for all versions, and it measures 46 millimeters in diameter. The watch can be worn on a chain or mounted on a strap made of full alligator skin.
From the inside, Bovet’s Rising Star beats to the rhythm of a hand-wound tourbillon movement with a frequency of 21,600 vibrations per hour. Tourbillon completes one full rotation per minute and offers 7 days of power reserve. Bovet’s Rising Star watch is offered in a limited edition of 190 pieces and 9 pairs of unique watches.
