Chaumet Paris will offer a new range of sporty diving watches – Class One Etonnante – by the end of 2012. The new range comprises of four cheerful models crafted in combination of white gold, precious stones and titanium. Since the launch of the model in 1998, Class One has become an epitome of casual elegance and sporty-chic style. This year it arrives on the market in an updated version, crafted from titanium and much lighter than before.
Chaumet Class One Etonnante are truly beautiful watches but, what we have here is a situation similar to the one we saw with Jaeger-Lecoultre’s Deep Sea Chronograph – a watch water resistant to 100 meters that markets as a diver’s piece. In the terms of aesthetic, Chaumet’s Class One Etonnante definitely features a dive-inspired face, but this level of water resistance is not suitable for diving. Watches water resistant to 100 meters are suitable for snorkeling, at best. Nevertheless, the brand speaks about the Class One as of the first jewelled diving watch from Chaumet.

Chaumet Class One Etonnante are crafted in grade 2 titanium and rhodium-plated white gold. Each of the variants arrives in 39mm-diameter with notched unidirectional rotating bezel. The titanium case of multicolor models is coated with PVD, while the black variant sports titanium housing in its natural hue. Depending on the variant, the watches are graced with either white and black diamonds, blue topaz, yellow sapphire with the orange sapphire, or purple sapphire with green tsavorites.
Chaumet Class One Etonnante is powered by self-winding mechanical movement with 38 hours of power reserve. The watches are mounted on calfskin leather strap in matching color with folding clasp pawed with precious stones. All of the four variants will become available in October 2012.
