Cuervo y Sobrinos introduces the new Historidador Clásico timepiece.
Cuervo y Sobrinos in a brand founded by Armando Río y Cuervo and his brothers, in late 19th century Havana. From the end of the 19th century to the late 50s, Cuba’s colorful capital was center of luxury and prestige for the world’s elite. Armando Rio & Cuervo ran the jewelry and watchmaking business, and grew to become famous by selling Swiss pocket watches. Soon, Don Armando began to develop and produce his own watches, under the brand Cuervo y Sobrinos. The business flourished until the late 50's, when Fidel Castro sworn in as prime minister of Cuba, forcing the Cuervo family to move to Europe. In partnership with Swiss watchmakers, the brand continued to produce new watches, gaining rapid success in the new market.

Today, more than half a century later, Cuervo y Sobrinos, introduces yet another of its intriguing models – the Historidador Clásico. Same as all other Cuervo y Sobrinos watches, the new Historidador is entirely Swiss Made, it includes a Swiss mechanical movement, but also epitomizes the vintage exotic of the Cuban spirit. The brand still derives its inspiration from tobacco and traditional cigar. By tradition, each of the Cuervo y Sobrinos watches is delivered in a special presentation box that doubles as a humidor for cigars.

Inspired by an original and historical Cuervo y Sobrinos design from the 1930’ and 40'ss, the new Cuervo y Sobrinos Historiador Clásico, features a round polished case and sculptural lugs, shaped like droplets of water. The classic round case is made from stainless steel, and it measures 40mm in diameter. The silver-colored caseband is paired with a beautiful dial, which comes in three color options: galvanic blue, silver, and copper. The perimeter of the dial is adorned with a sunray motif, while its center reveals Clou de Paris guilloche engraving. This elegant timepiece provides essential timekeeping information: hours and minutes, indicated by slender Roman numerals arranged on a railroad minute track, as well as small seconds counter at 6 o'clock.
The back of the case is set with a see-through crystal to disclose the bottom part of the ETA 7001 extra-flat movement. The window reveals blued screws, rubbies, and the oscillating weight finished with Geneva Stripes. The hand-wound ETA 7001 movement operates at a frequency of 21.600 vibrations per hour, and provides around 42 hours of power reserve. Cuervo y Sobrinos Historidador Clásico watches are mounted on alligator leather straps. For more information about these pieces, please visit Cuervo y Sobrinos website.
