Rolf Sachs, an accomplished German-born artist and designer, has created a spectacular new piece especially for Fortis.

This famous Swiss watchmaking brand is known to create special limited editions in cooperation with various artists. However, the Frission watch is something truly different and intriguing, surprisingly creative even for such an imaginative brand. The name Frisson comes from French language, where it means chill or shiver. It perfectly reflects the cool nature of this watch that comes with a frosted glass face and icy-white strap. The whole idea behind this successful design was to make a watch that resembles the condensation of an iced vodka glass, but that’s not all – when the wearer wipes a finger over the glass or breathes upon the frost, everything becomes crystal clear and the original dial is emphasized in its entire splendor.

Rolf Sachs decided to use hand-written numerals on the dial, instead of typical bold numerals. The Fortis logo is also done in doodle-style, while the small date aperture stands out distinctively at 3 o’clock circled in red. Hour and minute hands are coated with blue Superluminova to ensure maximum legibility in all light conditions. The watch is topped with mineral crystal that has undergone a special finish to allow only a dimly vision of the dial.

This Swiss-made watch uses an automatic movement, 11 ½””, built on 25 jewels. It comes in 40-milimmeters wide stainless steel case and mounted on a transparent silicone strap. The watch is water resistant to 200 meters and offered in a numbered limited edition of 999 exemplars.
