Frédéric Jouvenot presents an extraordinary new timepiece dedicated to all ladies who appreciate fine watchmaking.
The new Surya timepiece by Frédéric Jouvenot is the world’s first watch to show the hours by means of 12 jumping petals. As the brand announces, the Surya watch is designed to grace the Fine Watchmaking garden with the blossoming of its unprecedented complication – the corolla that is set in motion thanks to the most complex mechanical heart concealed beneath the minutes disc. The dial of this watch is embellished with pink sapphires, while its jumping petals change color to represent the alternating cycles of day and night. At the same time, the petals indicate the upcoming hour and the hour that has just elapsed, while the circular indicator, located at the center of the dial, informs the wearer about the current minute.
At the noon, all the petals are pink to represent daylight, as the dial represents the sun at its zenith. As the time goes by, the petals become black, one after another, so that the dial darkens to welcome the oncoming night. Midnight is represented by twelve black petals, which will take turns to pivot again until midday.
The watch is designed by Frédéric Jouvenot, a talented watchmaker who founded his namesake company back in 2008. The watch belongs to the Surya collection, which is dedicated to the Sunintegrating a jumping heliocentric display. Each of the watches from this range is a reference to various Gods of the sun, and it features a unique sun-shaped hour display. The latest watch from the series is Surya White Gold with Pink Sapphire, which honors the INDIA god of the sun. The watch comes in a beautiful round case with stylized lugs, measuring 42 x 55 in diameter. The case is 13mm thick and it is set with 54 round diamonds totalling 2.15 carats. The crown is set with a pink sapphire, same as the dial that features 12 pink sapphire elements.
The mechanism nestled inside its case is a mechanical winding movement that beats at a frequency of 28,800 vph. The movement is built on 47 jewels and it promises around 45 hours of power reserve. The case is sealed against the ingress of water to up to 50 meters, and it is mounted on a pink or black alligator leather strap with white gold folding clasp.

Frédéric Jouvenot Surya White Gold Pink Sapphire is available in a limited edition of 88 pieces. The watch is delivered in a dedicated presentation box, with an USB key with guarantee card and user manual. The watch is also available in green tsavorites version.
