Glashutte Original PanoMaticLunar and PanoReserve for BaselWorld 2015

Marina Milojević | 03.06.15 | 05:42 AM

On the occasion of the BaselWorld 2015 trade show, Glashütte Original presents new versions of its PanoMaticLunar and PanoReserve models.

Two new timepieces are joining Glashutte Original‘s Pano Collection, in red gold styles with a matt black dial, and in polished/satin brushed stainless steel versions with a dark blue dial. Their exceptional deals are made in Glashütte Original's own dial manufactory in Pforzheim, by the Manufacture’s best masters of the craft. Up to 40 separate operations are required to produce each and every one of these dials, while the application of the graphic elements goes over four different stages. The color of the dials is obtained from a special galvanic coloring process, by submerging the dial in the bath for precisely the right length of time. The strict production standards have been followed in production (regarding the grain, pressure and duration) to prevent any changes in color.

Both PanoMaticLunar and PanoReserve models have clear, elegant dials, with off-centered hour and minute hands and small seconds display, which are displayed on the left half of the dial. On the PanoMaticLunar, the Panorama Date and the romantic moon phase indicator are placed at the right side of the dial, following the rules of the “Golden Ratio,” which is a geometric proportion viewed as the key to forming aesthetically pleasing art.

The PanoMaticLunar is available in two different versions, each measuring 40 mm. The first one is ne crafted from red gold, and paired with a matte black dial, while another, stainless steel version, comes with a lovely blue-colored dial and silvery appliques. The model is powered by the in-house Calibre 90-02 – a mechanical automatic movement, which promises about 42 hours of power reserve. Thanks to the sapphire case back, the owner can admire its exquisite finishing: the three-quarter plate with the Glashütte stripe finish, the off-centered rotor with oscillating weight in 21-ct gold, blued screws and the hand-engraved balance cock with duplex swan-neck fine adjustment.

The PanoReserve model (40mm in diameter) is also available in either red gold version with a matt black dial, or in the stainless steel version with a galvanized blue dial. In addition to the off-centered hour and minute display, the dial of this model reveals the emblematic Panorama Date complication, alongside the power reserve indicator (Auf/Ab), on the right side of its dial. The model is powered by the manually winding Calibre 65-01 with 42 hour power reserve and 48 jewels. Thanks to the see-through case-back the wearer can admire its haute horlogerie finishing: the duplex swan-neck fine adjustment, the Glashütte three-quarter plate with the Glashütte stripe finish, the hand-engraved balance cock, the screw balance, screwmounted gold chatons and blued screws.
