Harry Winston’s Ocean Collection celebrates its 20th anniversary this year. To mark the occasion, the famous watch and jewelry maker has already introduced a number of new models in the Ocean family. The joining the range is the Ocean Biretrograde Perpetual Calendar Automatic 42mm, an architectural and geometric contemporary timepiece that displays a biretrograde perpetual calendar in levels, details and textures. The watch takes a new approach on how indications are presented on a perpetual calendar watch. Here, the indications are set out within an area defined by color and levels.

The classic complication incorporated into the sportiest model in the Harry Winston’s collection brings together indications for day, date, month, leap years, and moon phases. The day and date indications are both retrograde. The hand indicating the day rises, while the other hand descends. When they reach the end of their respective tracks, they automatically jump back to their starting position.

Harry Winston Ocean Biretrograde Perpetual Calendar Automatic 42mm comes in 18-karat rose or white gold, and in a limited anniversary edition of 20 watches crafted from white gold and set with baguette-cut diamonds on the bezel and lugs.

The watch face reveals a series of concentric circles and a grained flange, matching the color of the case, for day and date indications. A satin-finish thread includes Harry Winston’s emerald applique at 12 o’clock. The next ring is the hour circle, punctuated by Arabic numerals and luminescent hour markers. A spiral latticework with Clou de Paris motif surrounds the center of the dial. Set at 12 o’clock is the month sub-dial with large skeletonized hands and the leap year indicator. A moon-phase is positioned at 6 o’clock to provide visual balance.

The Harry Winston Ocean Biretrograde Perpetual Calendar Automatic 42mm is powered by the automatic movement HW3501. The movement is equipped with a silicon balance spring and endowed with a 72-hour power reserve. Its white gold engraved openwork rotor can be admired from the see-through case-back.
