On the occasion of the international watch salon SIAR Mexico, Hublot unveiled a special new version of its emblematic Big Bang model. This time, the iconic 'art of fusion’ watch has been transformed into a celebratory timepiece in honor of the El Dia de los Muertos. The new model, Big Bang One Click Calavera Catrina as announced as the most carefree piece from Hublot’s skull series. This eccentric new model is introduced as a tribute to life, a watch that celebrates the famous Mexican holiday - Day of the Dead, which has been recognized by UNESCO as part of the world cultural heritage.
The iconic Big Bang design has been offered in a fresh new reinterpretation available in three colorful variants dressed in fuchsia, purple, turquoise, and green. There are three limited editions in total: a steel version featuring a white lacquered dial with a matching white leather and rubber strap (100-piece edition), a ceramic version (100-piece edition) and a King Gold version (50-piece edition) both with matching black lacquer dials and black leather straps.
The famous skull motif brings to mind Mexican calaveras and lively makeup worn by the Catrinas (Elegant Skull) during the celebrations. Each of the three is paired with a lacquered dial in black or white, engraved with colored lacquer. The colorful festive dresses are conveyed through the unique straps with stitched multi-colored skulls and sapphire-set bezels.
The Hublot Big Bang One Click Calavera Catrina is powered by the self-winding mechanical movement HUB1710. This 166-piece caliber is mounted on 27 jewels, it beats at a frequency of 28800 vibrations per hour, and provides about 50 hours of power reserve. The model is equipped with the One Click interchangeable system that allows it to be transformed instantly and worn with blue or pink leather straps.
This unique new model measures 39mm in diameter and 12.55mm in thickness. The case is water resistant to 100 meters of depth.
