Introducing the HYT H1 - Hydro Mechanical Watch

I recently announced a new brand named HYT, which is about to debut at this year’s Baselworld. Now, thanks to Ariel Adams, I have a chance to show you images of their premier watch, the HYT H1, based on the revolutionary concept of “hydro mechanical horology”.

The transparent tube circling around the dial is actually a liquid filled hollow that indicates the hours using the luminescent green fluid. The lower portion of the dial showcases two bellows, controlled by the movement mechanism. These are used to push the liquid, and draw it back again, in order to show the current hour. Minutes are shown in more traditional manner, using a separate sub-dial positioned at 12 o’clock. The small seconds dial is located at 9 o’clock and styled in the manner of water turbine. On the opposite side of the dial, at 3 o’clock, lies power reserve indicator and nicely balances the layout.

According to the brand, there are no less than seven pending patents for this watch. Once it becomes available, customers may choose between three versions: titanium, DLC black coated titanium, and 18k red gold. HYT H1 is a large 48.8mm wide piece powered by mechanical self-winding movement, which is visible through the rear, and provides 65 hours of power reserve.
