Luminox just launched the new F-22 Raptor model of the 9720 series - a crhono with a slide-rule bezel.
F-22 Raptor Series is strongly inspired by military aircrafts, and pays a tribute to some of the most prestigious flying machines, such as the supersonic SR-71 Blackbird for example, or combat aircraft F-117 Nighthawk Stealth . This new model, announced earlier this year, has finally become available for purchase.
The Flight Calculation/Chronograph watch is equipped with a slide rule bezel, which allows the wearer to make quick calculations on the go. This is especially important for military aviators whose survival often depends on the accuracy of their calculations. The bidirectional rotating bezel with a black aluminum slide rule ring is paired with a tachymetric scale, which can be used to indicate the rates of speed - in kilometers, miles, or nautical miles per hour.
The watch offers central seconds hand, concentric minutes and hours totalizers in a subdial at 9 o’clock, and a 1/10-secondsubdial at 6 o’clock, along with the big date display and day of the week indication. The 1/10-second chronograph measures events of up to 12 hours with 1/10-of-a-second precision.
The F-22 Raptor™ Flight Calculation/Chronograph, Series 9270 comes in 44-mm wide case bade of solid blackened titanium. This material, which is both strong and lightweight, is a popular choice for sports watches. The case conceals Ronda quartz movement, built on 13 jewels, while the case-back bears special engraving of the F-22 Raptor aircraft. Mounted on either a solid link titanium bracelet or blue leather band with red stripe detail, and water resistant to 200 meters.
