On the occasion of SIHH 2014, Ralph Lauren will present its new Sporting Automotive Flying Tourbillon wristwatch.
The new Ralph Lauren Sporting Automotive Flying Tourbillon for SIHH 2014 will debut at SIHH 2014, in January. The new timepiece is an expansion of the brand's Automotive collection, and it is directly inspired by sleek curves of Bugatti Atlantic Coupe Type 57SC, a car owned by Ralph Lauren. As the name already suggests, the watch is a flying tourbillon, and this gorgeous complication is visible from the watch face. The tourbillon cage is located at 6 o'clock and the tourbillon itself supported only at the bottom of the cage, so it appears like its floating suspended in the midair.
The dial is composed of two sections. The inner section is matte black and it features a spiral engraving, while the outer section evokes the luxury car's dashboard and it is crafted from elm burl wood. Housed within a 45mm shot-blasted black stainless steel case, the watch features two luminescent sword-shaped for the central time display and a luxurious black alligator strap that nicely completes the composition.
Ralph Lauren Sporting Automotive Flying Tourbillon for SIHH 2014 is powered by the exclusive RL 167 self-winding movement. It beats at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour and has an off-centered gold-plated micro-rotor that can be admired through the sapphire-crystal case back. Ralph Lauren Sporting Automotive Flying Tourbillon is water resistant to 50 meters and its serial number reference is RLR0220707.
