With model 8880, the House of Franck Muller returns to the sources of watchmaking tradition while proposing a very contemporary piece of entertainment. The Independent Second Hand is in fact a complication invented at the end of the XVIII century which offers a more precise reading of time than does the trailing second hand. The second hand remains immobile until the second has actually passed. Franck Muller proposes a variation of this complication with the Seconde D. Sun-stamped translucent lacquered dial offers a great variety of functions: hours, minutes in a counter at 12 o'clock. Small seconds in a counter at 6 o'clock. Date and month by central hands. Independent (disloyal) second hand in the center with start/stop function. This piece is powered by self-winding mechanical movement, able to provide 40hours of power reserve.
