Piaget Altiplano Watches Dressed in Diamonds

The first ultra-thin watches produced by Piaget were developed in 1957, after several years of productive exploration and development. Out of a total of 29 movements developed by Piaget, 17 are ultra-thin. In 2010, Piaget produced the world’s thinnest mechanical automatic movement at just 2.35 mm thick. These movements, 1200P (hours and minutes) and 1208P (hours, minutes and small seconds), are embedded in the Altiplano watches characterized by elegantly shaped clean dials, slim elongated hands and fine baton-shaped hour-markers or Roman numerals.

This year, the range of Piaget Altiplano watches is enriched with a couple of new models: 34 and 38 mm with pavé dial, 43 mm white gold with gem-set bezel, 40 mm in pink gold with gem-set bezel and 34 mm pink gold with gem-set bezel.



The 34 and 38 mm models are crafted in white gold and set with 836 and 669 diamonds, respectively, weighing approximately 2.9 and 2.2 carats. The refined aesthetic of the dial is undisturbed by the Piaget logo, which is placed beneath the crystal and not on the dial itself. The diamond pave models are beating to the cadence o f the in-house Calibre 430P, offering the simple hours and minute functions. Both watches are water resistant to 30 meters and completed with black alligator leather strap. These two models are Piaget’s introduction of “couples”, which is an offer comprising a man’s model and a ladies’ model.



The 43mm wide version of Piaget Altiplano was first introduced in 2010. This year, it is graced with 88 diamonds of the bezel, approximately weighing 0.8 carats. The slender case crafted in white gold is 5.25mm high, which makes the thinnest automatic watch on the market. The watch utilizes Calibre 1208P ultra-thin movement equipped with a 22-carat gold oscillating weight. The watch offers hours and minutes functions, together with small seconds at 5 o’clock. Adorned with beveled bridges and Côtes de Genève engraving, it provides 40 hours of power reserve. The sophisticated decoration is visible through the sapphire crystal back. Water resistant to 20 meters, this watch is completed with black alligator strap secured to the wrist by a pin buckle.



The 40mm wide pink gold variation of Piaget Altiplano highlights pure dial with baton-type hands and hour-markers, complemented by an offset small seconds dial at 10 o’clock. The pink gold bezel is set with 72 brilliant-cut diamonds, approximately weighing 1 carat. The watch is animated by the mechanical hand-wound movement ultra-thin Calibre 838P, completely developed by Piaget. Generously decorated, the movement is visible through the transparent case-back. Water resistant to 30 meters, this watch is mounted on a brown leather strap, fastened with a pink gold buckle. The model is also available in white gold version.



The Piaget Altiplano 34 mm is one of the best-selling ladies’ models. This year, it is presented with a completely new matt white dial, adorned with the elegant Roman numerals. Crafted in pink gold, the watch is topped with a diamond-set bezel, featuring 72 brilliant-cut diamonds, weighing approximately 0.5 carats. The dial is graced with the Piaget logo at 3 o’clock and the small seconds sub-dial at 10 o’clock, circled by 28 diamonds. This model utilizes the ultra-thin 450P mechanical hand-wound movement. Water resistant to 30 meters, the watch is completed with white alligator leather strap fitted with golden pin buckle. It is also available in white gold.
