Piaget Altiplano Skeleton with a black PVD treatment for Only Watch 2011

This is the fourth consecutive time that Piaget helps this noble charity auction aimed to support research on Duchenne muscular dystrophy. For this year’s event, Piaget offers a beautiful Altiplano Skeleton with black PVD treatment. This one-of-a kind piece embodies the finest principles of watchmaking, sculptured in 18-carat white gold. The core of a watch beats with Manufacture Piaget 838P ultra-thin mechanical hand-wound movement, which is generously decorated. To complete the dark elegant appearance of the watch, the movement is also coated in black PVD, adorned with 4 ping gold screws and garlanded by delicate sunray guilloché motif.

The edge of the dial radiates engraved sunray pattern that nicely blends with details of the open worked dial. The watch offers hour and minute indication, as well as small seconds at 10 o’clock. Polished Dauphine hands, with pink gold finishing, flow seamlessly above the composition, standing out nicely against the black surface. Successful design is completed with black alligator strap finished with an 18-carat white gold pin buckle with a black PVD treatment.

Since the last edition in September 2009, € 2,5 million have been donated to 18 scientific partners for research on Duchenne muscular dystrophy.
