Hublot offers an exclusive preview of its most exclusive BaselWorld 2015 timepiece – the Hublot Big Bang Unico Full Magic Gold.
A week before the BaselWorld trade show, Hublot unveils the Big Bang Unico Full Magic Gold, which is a celebratory timepiece dedicated to the 10th anniversary of the iconic Big Bang Model. For this special occasion, Hublot releases its famous Big Bang in a case made of polished Magic Gold. This noble material, exclusive to Hublot, is its proprietary, patented invention, certified as 18 carats by the Central Office for Precious Metals Control. Magic gold is actually a fusion of pure 24 carat gold, and the latest high-tech materials, which makes it the one and only type of scratch-resistant gold in the world.
The hardness of Hublot’s Magic Gold is close to 1,000 Vickers, which is much more than that of 18-carat gold that only reaches 400 Vickers. The Hublot’s famous alloy, which was unveiled in November 2011, was developed in Switzerland alongside the prestigious EPFL (Swiss Federal Institute of Technology), while the first watches made from it were presented at BaselWorld2012. In 2015, Hublot extends its Magic Gold portfolio with an exclusive edition of the Big Bang Unico model. As its name suggests, the watch is powered by the manufacture chronograph movement the UNICO, while its case retains all of the aesthetic properties of gold, only hardened at a very high temperature, and literally scratch resistant. The case measures 45mm in diameter, and it features the brand’s emblematic H-shaped black PVD treated titanium screws. The sapphire case protects the matte black watch face, with two counters framed with satin-finished gilt rings. The counter at 9 o’clock is for small seconds, while the one at 3 o’clock serves as a chronograph minute counter. The gold colored indices are painted with black Superluminova, while a date window appears at 3 o’clock position. As you can see, this new, exclusive model, is very similar to the recently unveild Hublot Big Bang Unico Magic Gold model, which was announced as a watch with the most scratch-resistant golden bezel ever produced. The Unico Full Magic Gold is made entirely from red gold - including the case, the lugs, and the bezel.
Hublot Big Bang Unico Full Magic Gold is powered by the HUB 1242 UNICO flyback chronograph movement with anthracite grey treatment. The column wheel and double clutch visible on the dial side, while the oscillating weight, visible through the sapphire case-back, also has an anthracite grey treatment. The movement is sealed against the ingress of water to up to 100 meters, and it provides around 72 hours of power reserve.
Hublot Big Bang Unico Full Magic Gold, reference number 411.MX.1138.RX, is issued in a limited edition of 250 pieces. The watch is mounted on a structured ribbed black rubber bracelet with black PVD titanium deployant buckle with ceramic plate.
