Breitling Emergency Night Mission is a new version of Breitling’s famous survival instrument, the world’s first wristwatch with a dual frequency locator beacon. Breitling Emergency timepieces are designed to help issue alerts and guide search and rescue missions in case of emergencies. The watches are equipped with a micronized transmitter and an integrated antenna system, compliant with the requirements of the International Cospas-Sarsat satellite system. Its main function is to trigger alerts and guide search and rescue operations, emitting a digital emergency signal that may help the rescue team to center on the target.
Obviously, the Breitling Emergency Night Mission watches are aimed at pilots and military professionals, special forces, and adventurers haunting remote, risky grounds. This special watch is intended for survival situations that happen without any prior notice, such as plane crashes, hiking or skiing accidents, or various potentially fatal casualties that may occur in rough, inaccessible terrain.

Breitling Emergency Night Mission comprises three new, powerful designs for this high-tech survival instrument. Same as Breitling Emergency II, which is an improved version of the former Emergency model that transmits on a sole analog frequency, works on two frequencies ranging from 30 to 3000 mW.

The Emergency Night Mission emits two different signals: a digital signal on 406 MHz that goes out for 0.44 seconds every 50 seconds, and an analog signal on 121.5 MHz, which is 0.75 seconds long and repeated every 2.25 seconds. The system is powered by a rechargeable lithium-ion battery, independent from the Breitling SuperQuartz movement. The battery provides about 24 hours of operation, which should be enough for the satellite to pick up the signal. However, the wearer needs to make sure that the battery is recharged regularly, so the watch could be in use in case of emergency.

All three versions of the Breitling Emergency Night Mission model are crafted from lightweight and sturdy blackened titanium, with satin-brushed surfaces. The first version features orange hands hand hour-markers, paired with the same-colored strap. The second model is available in black and yellow, while the third one features a midnight blue mother-of-pearl dial and a matching blue strap. The cases are water resistant to 50 meters, and they measure 51mm in width. The SuperQuartz movement, nestled on the inside, is officially chronometer-certified by the COSC. In addition to 12/24-hour analog and LCD digital display, it features a 2nd timezone function, a multilinqual calendar, 1/100th of a second chronograph, and battery end-of-life (EOL) indicator.
