I couple of days ago - in this article - I posted a teaser photo of the new Breitling’s piece. The press information is finally unveiled, a day before BaselWorld opens its gates, and now we have the opportunity to take a first look at Breitling’s Transocean Chronograph Unitime watch.
BREITLING Transocean Chronograph Unitime is a world-time chronograph that simultaneously indicates the time in all world time zones – 24 of them. The main purpose of the watch, which is to be a perfect travel companion, is illustrated by the central decoration on the dial, showing the image of a world globe.

The functions of the watch are animated by completely new in-house movement Caliber 05, based on the same architecture as the brand’s renowned Caliber 1, which often mentioned as the world’s best chronograph movement. Going one step further, Caliber 05 features two mobile disks – a 24-hour disk and a disk with the names of world’s major metropolises, each representing one of the world’s time-zones. The time-zone displayed at 12 o’clock indicates the local time, which is measured by central hands. The time in the second time-zone is indicated by 24-hour disk, while the rest of the functions include a 1/4th second chronograph, 30-minute and 12-hour totalizers. Date is shown using the discrete aperture positioned between 4 and 5 o’clock.

The watch is available in stainless steel or 18-carat red gold, with 46 mm in diameter. It offers 70-hours of power reserve and superior water resistance to up to 100 meters. The face of the watch is protected with convex sapphire crystal, revealing black or polar white dial. The customer can also choose between multiple options for the strap such as Barenia leather, crocodile leather, or Ocean Classic (steel mesh, steel version only).
