Introducing the Dior Grand Soir Origami, a series of five one-of-a-kind timepieces inspired by the Japanese art of paper folding.
Dior has recently launched a gorgeous new model that celebrates the art of origami, as well as the historical connection between the famous French luxury goods company and the land of the rising sun. The new Dior Grand Soir Origami is inspired by the traditional Japanese art of paper folding, a craft which started in the 17th century AD and later evolved into a modern art form. Today, the principles of origami are applied to many different fields of creative expression like design, fashion, craft, and, now, watchmaking.

The new Dior Grand Soir Origami wristwatch is a part of the collection of unique timepieces designed to pay homage to the label's haute couture heritage. Throughout the years, many haute couture designers, including those of the house of Christian Dior, have applied the art of origami into the creation process of their collections. The Dior Grand Soir Origami reinterprets the aesthetic style of Origami, and know-how of the Manufacture’s craftsmen, on white dials of a 33mm diameter. The three-dimensional origami-inspired central decoration is made using the technique of marquetry to create a stunning optical effect. The bezels of these delicate and feminine timepieces are graced by triangle-cut and baguette-helix-cut precious stones, including sapphires, tsavorite garnets, spessartite garnets and diamonds. The mother of pearl dials are highlighted with triangle-cut or trapezium-cut diamonds, pink sapphires, yellow sapphires, spinels and aquamarines.

The Dior Grand Soir Origami is equally impressive on the inside, as it appears to the eye. This unusual watch is equipped with the automatic Elite movement, developed and made by the Zenith manufacture. The movement is decorated in the contemporary manner, having the oscillating weight lacquered in bright and vibrant colors - lemon yellow, pink fuchsia, purple, peachy pink or sky blue. The oscillating weight, which is located on the reverse side of the watch movement, reveals the mother-of-pearl lace that stretches through the case-back, as it swings. The movement runs on 50-hour power reserve and it is water resistant to 50 meters.
