The Girard-Perregaux Manufacture presents the seductive new version of its iconic Cat's Eye collection – the Cat’s Eye Day & Night.
Girard-Perregaux’s Cat’s Eye collection celebrates an important anniversary this year. It was exactly 10 years ago, in 2004, when the Cat’s Eye collection was first introduced. Back in a day, the range was so distinctively fresh that it won a number of prestigious horological acclaims, including the prestigious "Watch of the year" award. Since then, the collection has grew to include many different models designed specifically for female tastemakers. Today, Cat’s Eye watches exist in a number of various renditions, featuring a wide range of Haute Horlogerie features. However, one thing still remains unchanged – the perfectly proportioned and feminine oval case.

The seductive new version of the iconic Cat’s Eye model introduces a new poetical function – the Day & Night indicator. The dial of the new model is decorated with two contrasting yet complimentary elements, the sun and the moon surrounded by stars, on an intricately-crafted disc in 22-carat pink gold. The disc is composed of two alternating polished and satin-finished segments, which gives it a realistic, three-dimensional appearance.

The day/night indicator is set against a guilloché mother-of-pearl dial, which is embellished with a sunray motif. The hours are marked by teardrop-shaped gem-set markers, while delicate leaf-shaped hands flow above the pearly surface, tracking the passage of time.
Girard-Perregaux Cat’s Eye Day & Night model is crafted out of pink gold and set with 62 brilliant-cut diamonds of approximately 0.80 ct. The dial is decorated with additional 18 brilliant-cut diamonds, totaling about 0.60 ct. The mechanical, self-winding movement GP03300-0090, which is used exclusively in Cat’s Eye models, beats on the inside of the case. This remarkable mechanical gem is assembled from 218 individual components and decorated in the spirit of haute horlogerie. The wearer can admire its golden oscillating weight through the sapphire crystal case-back. The frequency of the movement is 28,800 Vib, and its power reserve is somewhere around 46 hours.

Girard-Perregaux Cat’s Eye Day & Night is available in four different variants, depending on the color of the mother-of-pearl dial and the customers’ choice of bracelet. The watch is available with a black or gray alligator leather strap with pink gold folding clasp, or with a pink gold bracelet. Reference numbers for each of the variants are:

Black alligator leather strap with pink gold folding clasp

One of the most interesting astronomical watches of the year is the Girard-Perregaux Cosmos, a watch that made it to the GPHG’s list of pre-selected watches in the Calendar and Astronomy category. Dominating the center of the dial are two complete globes – celestial and terrestrial.
