Created in 2004, the Cat’s Eye collection is an example of a union between Haute Horlogerie and Haute Joaillerie.
Girard-Perregaux has just unveiled the newest model in the Cat's Eye series, which is known as a perfect example of an union between high-end watchmaking and haute joaillerie. Honoring the women who appreciate fine watchmaking and mechanical movements, Girard-Perregaux's Cat’s Eye Jewelry uses an in-house mechanism– a self-winding GP03300-0072 caliber, built on 27 rubies. The movement beats at the frequency of 2,800 Vib/h (4 Hz), providing a minimum of 46 hours of autonomy.
As you can see on the images, Cat’s Eye Jewelry is truly elegant and ultimately sophisticated. The case is literally enchained in diamonds , and it sparkles in a dazzling bright glow. The housing is made of white gold, measuring 38.63 mm x 33.63 mm, and fitted with a sapphire crystal on both sides.
The watch provides basic time-telling functions: hours, minutes and small seconds. For each of the functions, there is an elegant leaf-shaped hand made in white gold.
There are 150 emerald-cut diamonds on the case, weighing approximately 14.52 carats. The dial is graced with 102 emerald-cut diamonds, adding another 6.6 carats to the composition, while 3 baguette-cut diamonds (of 0.67 carats) embellish the Ardillon buckle in white gold. The stones are arranged in “Clous de Paris” hobnail motif, starting from the center of the small seconds and broadening up to the very edges of the oval case. What is so special about this motif is that a several stones are held in place with a single “clou” or pin. The cutter, therefore, must carefully adjust each of the stones in order for dial hold in place.
GIRARD-PERREGAUX Cat’s Eye Jewellery, the newest sequel of the Cat’s Eye line, arrives on the market under the reference number 91702B53P7B1-KK6A. The watch is water resistant to 30 meters (30 ATM) and mounted on a satin strap.
